I THOUGHT YOU WERE A WRITER?

Aye, indeed. But as the marketplace evolved, so has the need for writers to be proficient in Content Management Systems like WordPress. I've always tinkered with websites for fun, so it was a fairly smooth transition to learning full-on website design (lies, all LIES - it was a harrowing, difficult experience). Whether it's small business web design, or web design in Denver for a major creative agency, being a writer enhances the kind of content you can create. Web design and writing aren't mutually exclusive skill sets; each enhances the other.

SO WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT IN A WEBSITE?

What's the balance between function and appearance? That's the critical struggle when designing a site. Even though a website's desktop design is what people will judge a website on, appearance-wise, over 75% of website visits will be on mobile. For that reason, it's absolutely critical to take a mobile-first approach. As a content writer, I also take SEO and SEM very seriously, and strive to put a content-forward spin on every site I design. Even though technology continues to advance, there's no more powerful weapon to get visitors to your website than content marketing (blogging about your industry).
